It was the kind of matchup every fan likes to see. Number 3 vs number 5. Two good teams doing battle. On this day, it looked like the Raiders would chalk up another win. The first game started out well enough, with the sets and smashes going where they were supposed to go. The game went to Iolani 25-18.But, the momentum was starting to switch, concentration was slipping just that little bit, and it
showed. Maryknoll found new life, their shots started clicking and they took over the match.The second game was sort of close, but Maryknoll had that little edge that kept the Raiders at bay.
The third game was, I think, all Maryknoll. I could only stay until the score was about 6-4 (Maryknoll), but if the score tells an accurate story (25-12), it wasn't pretty.
On Thursday we go up against number 1 ranked Punahou. Can we win it? Yes, but it will not be easy and it would be considered a pretty big upset. I have this dream that our boys VB team beats Punahou on Thursday and then our varsity football team beats them on Friday. Hey, I can dream can't I?
